Mt. MELVIL along with Seventy Two Films created ’72’, a documentary series focusing on the psychology of a top individual performer’s critical moment; whether in sports, music, or under a spot light. Each episode follows a world class individual, set around a 72 hour time frame either side of a pivotal event. We use this as a window to understand our subject in sharp detail, and the stakes involved in their world.
Our first episode is with Vasyl Lomachenko, who is ESPN’s no.1 rated pound-for-pound fighter in the world. Some calling the greatest since Ali. With the weight of history-making on his shoulders, we are embedded with him for 72 hours through one of his greatest challenges, watching him run the gauntlet to inch one step closer to greatness. While exploring the strength and character required to undertake such a critical solo performance, we uncover the cherished bond of a father and son, the daily costs of creating a legacy, and how Loma earned his nickname ‘No Mas Chenko’.
Stay tuned for more episodes around other athletes coming soon.
