Mt. MELVIL along with Seventy Two Films created ’72’, a sports documentary series focused on the psychology of competing in a critical moment of an athlete’s career. Each episode follows a different world class athlete, set around a 72 hour time frame either side game day. We use this as a window to get to know our athletes in sharp detail, and some of the stakes involved in their world.

Our first episode is with Vasyl Lomachenko, the world’s top pound-for-pound fighter, whom some call the best fighter since Muhammad Ali. ’72’ captures the episode around Lomachenko and one of his most anticipated and sought after fights against Guillermo Rigondeaux. The episodes focus on several key aspects; legacy, family, entourage and fame.

We took a new approach of launching vignettes of the episode on to social media platforms leading up to Lomachenko’s upcoming big fight.

Stay tuned for more episodes around other athletes coming soon.
